Awkwafina is an American performer and actress. She started by releasing hilarious, intelligently composed music that tackled issues like racial identification as well as sexuality. She then expanded her audience to Hollywood. Nora Lum began her musical career as a musician on the trumpet. She was born in Forest Hills Queens, she was a child of Chinese immigrants and Korean immigrants. Following her Jazz and classical training her interest in hip-hop grew as a teen. Concentrating on school she majored in journalism and women's studies in college even taking classes in Mandarin in Beijing during a brief time. It wasn't until she began focusing on music until the time she completed her degree. Her song My Vag, a response track to the Mickey Avalon's My Dick gained viral popularity through the Internet in 2012. It was eventually included in her debut album Yellow Ranger released in 2014. Other viral hits included the queef track, and the witty NYC Bitche$ hometown tour. The single that debuted was specifically linked to the album Awkwafinas NYC, her guide to travel in 2015. She decided to pursue acting careers following the completion of her previous two projects, as an author and musician. Apart from early series like Girl Code and Tawk she appeared in films like Neighbors 2, Storks and Bad Rap. In 2018 she landed her first major role in a number of high-profile movies like Dude Ocean's 8, and Crazy Rich Asians. In June she dropped her EP "In Fina We Trust".
