Apollonia Kotero

Patricia Apollonia Kotero is an American singer-actress and former model. She was the lead female performer for Apollonia 6 and co-starred in Prince's film Purple Rain from 1984. Apollonia was a performer/singer christened by Prince in 1984 became one of the female singers of the 1980s who benefited from Prince. Patricia Kotero is a Californian actress born in Santa Monica, California in 1959. Her first career was acting as a model for television. In 1984 she landed the female lead of Prince's Purple Rain (during which time the singer switched her names) and was replaced by Vanity in the female duo Vanity 6 singing with them in the film with the title Apollonia 6. They scored a small hit with Sex Shooter but it was as Prince's duet partner in Take Me with You from the soundtrack that she had more of an impact on charts. The two were dispute regarding the direction she was taking in her career Apollonia 6 broke up, and Kotero ended her association with Prince. In the wake of appearing in minor film (and as of the reports, refusing to take part on the Purple Rain film Under the Cherry Moon) her name was mentioned and she was cast in the 1985-1986 show on television called Falcon Crest. Apollonia was finally able to release her debut album in 1988, but her comparatively tame collection of dance and R&B songs did not impress those who bought music, and soon the album vanished out of sight. In the years that followed, she remained an active actor, with a few film appearances and a few TV series. Apollonia released a bilingual album in Spanish and English entitled Stay with me in 1997. Following her return to the university and receiving a bachelor's degree in filmmaking and established her own business. Apollonia is a multi-faceted person. She's been an actress, model and the talent manager. Purple Rain, the 1984 film in which she appeared was her most well-known role. Some other films and television shows Kotero was a part of include Black Magic Woman and The Divorce Ceremony. Kotero debuted her career as a model. She participated in numerous events and contests. Kotero is the winner of Miss San Pedro Beauty Pageant. In the early 1980s she debuted in acting. Apollonia Kotero is an American model actress, singer, and manager.
