Bell also played Jeannie van der Hooven, the female protagonist on the Showtime comedy series House of Lies. Bell was the lead character Eleanor Shellstrop, the leading character on the critically acclaimed NBC comedy show The Good Place. She was nominated for a Golden Globe Award. In addition, Bell played the lead character in streaming series The Woman in the House across the street from the Girl in the Window.
